Beauty is the eye of the beholder

Processed with VSCOcam with t1 presetSo today I’m writing a big long wordy post, filled with quotes and beautifulness! Not your cup of tea? Then head elsewhere, I’ve warned you this is an opinionated post, no need to be rude about it.

Onwards, sorry for the pre-text rant… Today I wanted to think about the idea of beauty, what is it, really?

Is it the amount of makeup you wear? Or the shortest dress you can pull off? Maybe it’s what your favourite mascara allows you to feel? Or when a stranger compliments you?

Whatever it is to you, that’s okay. But for me… Beauty is being a good person, when someone’s personality shines through, you see past their new lipstick, you don’t care about their perfume, they’re beautify because they are a good person. I guess you could say it applies to both genders, I mean nobody likes a narsasistic idiot, do they ladies?

There’s a really beautiful quote from Audrey Hepburn which I think sums this up… We are so quick to judge people by their apprearances get I think it’s important to remember how we (or we should) measure beauty…

“The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, figure she carries or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eye, because hat is the doorway to her heart the place she love recides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It’s the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion she’s goes and the beauty of a woman only grows with passing years”

Beauty shouldn’t be defined by a woman’s looks, and it’s a shame society views it this way… You’re so much prettier than the number of liked you get on your latest selfie, a photo of yourself won’t show you a persons true feelings, will it?

I’d love to know what you think beauty is, let me know in the comments!
