Blogging for Happiness

I can’t promise that things won’t be broken, but I swear that I’ll never leave

Evening everyone,

I’m incredibly excited to be typing out this post, at 3:28am. After spending the entire night redesigning my blog, I’m happy to say that Sophia Lauren is back. And this time, there won’t be any interruptions, any disappearances and most importantly, no awful, pointless posts.

Firstly, I owe you all a massive, massive apology. I’m sure, it’s definitely fair to say that the last four months have been really tough to strike a healthy balance of work and rest. But, more importantly than this, I want to make this a thing of the past. I want to make time for the things I enjoy again: writing blog posts and interacting with you all being one of them. There’s just something so calming about being able to type your thoughts away ’til there’s no tomorrow, and chatting to all you lovely people about our posts, or just what’s been happening in the world.

I honestly believe that blogging can be a really positive activity for a person’s mental health. In the ruthless society we live in, we’re all reluctant to indulge in a bit of self-care. It’s so important to make time or yourself, even if it feels like you don’t have enough time. I guess it’s a shame its taken me this long to realise that. I hope that by starting again, I can retake my place in the blogging community, and pick up where I left off. I’ve honestly missed y’all!

For 2016, expect lots of new and exciting posts and projects. To be an established journalist in the next seven years would be an absolute dream come true for me, and I’m dedicating time to script ‘proper posts’ (whatever they may be) and give some real thought into my posts. The idea is that through this blog I can track my progress and read these posts back in a few years time, and see how much I’ve grown as a writer.

Anyways, onwards and upwards for now. Look forward to speaking to you all soon!

Sophia x
